This document will walk through removing the colored dome on the Big Button so you can add vinyl underneath it.

You will need a thin prying tool, such as a small slotted/flathead screwdriver or a rigid knife blade.

Put the tool into the gap between the colored dome and the black rim and push it in a bit. Don't apply too much pressure, but press it down as far as it will comfortably go.

Pry the dome gently and it should start to lift up.

Keep prying until the dome comes up far enough up the black rim to come loose.

Once the dome is removed you will see a white disk. This is what we will attach the vinyl to.

Remove the white disk and apply vinyl as desired.

Make note of the orientation of the white disk. There are four notches that the disk fits into, so ensure that you align your graphic properly. You should set the four little tabs on the white disk at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions when you apply the vinyl since you can only rotate it 90 degrees.

Once your vinyl is attached you can place the disk back in place. Make sure the tabs and notches line up properly.

(Note: We didn't add vinyl! This is just a demo of how to disassemble and reassembly.)

When you've got your disk back in place press the dome back into place. The dome doesn't need to line up like the disk does.

Here are a few examples of Big Buttons with vinyl added. Note that we always use black vinyl since the disk is white and is backlit by the LED.
